The Sufficient Word

Riding home tonight, lit sporadically by dim streetlights on a dark road, realised that one might reasonably term my after-work activities as a second job: 8pm – 11pm on many nights. (Except that I’m not allowed to have a second job, of course, under my current terms of employment. Plus there isn’t any monetary compensation involved.)

About to stumble into bed, incredibly thankful for the opportunity to see someone start to delight in God’s Word. “You mean there’s so much in just this one chapter? When can we do this again?” And this, just simply prodding her along to comprehend what is plain to the eye – no Scripture-twisting, no creative assumptions and speculations, no rabbits from hats. Surely the word of God is sufficient.
